welsh escape

sometimes it's nice to fit into other peoples routines.  it means you don't have to worry about your own.  this weekend was cold and wet but especially windy.  laughs were had, memories evoked.  i haven't seen a tunnocks tea cake for years (it's a scottish thing).  some good junk shop rummaging was had, treasures were found. a blow of air and a touch of nature.  not to mention food, lots of food.  this is my mum we are talking about here...

it's worth the wait

new phones don't come along very often for me.  in fact i had to wait a lot longer than anticipated for this one.  it was worth it.  finally i will have internet access on the move.  how very modern of me.  i'm enjoying the new kid on the block.  also strangely enjoying being incommunicado whilst my number is being ported.  only for 48 hours.  maybe that's why.

so i forgot

i had an old friend to stay.  he brought a new friend.  i bought flowers.  thought it would be nice to put one, just one in the bedroom.  it's the spare room.  obviously i don't go in as often as i thought.

tulips are my favourite.

(thought i would tell you what it was in case you couldn't tell.)

i think they look as beautiful dried (ahem) as they do fresh.  don't you agree?

i write this whilst thunder is rumbling & rain is lashing down outside.  the first rain like this for weeks.  i bet my garden is glad.  note to self: weeds don't look as beautiful dried.

bank holiday sunshine

after william and catherine exchanged a ring we headed off to wales.  the sun came out to play.  so too did the wind.  not so much of a tan aquired, more wind burn, well at least i wasn't lobster red for a change.  lots of sleep was had.  nice wine & food too.  ready to face the challenge of the week.  refreshed.  reinvigorated. relaxed.

Easter hope

Beautiful weather...clear blue skies....Norfolk windmills, making you look to the sky. Easter has been mixed, times of real happiness that you want to capture and hold on to, mixed with times of real despair as all the relationships around you that are so important seem so hard.....At times like that it is hard to look to up. How do you lift yourself and rise- to not give in? Easter is about the grief, sadness that is followed by hope and joy.  I want to climb up that windmill and get to the top - I need to keep focussing on that sky.
